About Jerusalem Light

Jerusalem Light is home to Acts 1:8 Jerusalem, our discipleship program, and Calvary Chapel Old City, our Calvary Chapel congregation meeting on Friday nights during spring and fall. Matt and Elizabeth Finch have lived in Jerusalem for more than a decade.

Our two main ministries are Acts 1:8 Jerusalem, a ten-week discipleship program for young adults, and Calvary Chapel Old City, our Calvary Chapel congregation meeting on Friday nights. Matt leads worship, teaches the Bible, and serves as pastor and program director.

Calvary Chapel Old City gathers at Christ Church Jerusalem, near Jaffa Gate, at 7:00 PM on confirmed Fridays during spring and fall. We are in season until December 2026, then take a winter break and return in February 2027. Check our Facebook and Instagram for service dates.

Jerusalem Light grew out of ordinary faithfulness. Shared meals. Open Bibles. Worship in our living room. Conversations that stretch late into the evening.

We believe discipleship happens in those moments.

Over the years, students, pastors, pilgrims, and friends from around the world have become part of our story. Some return often. Some stay in touch from afar. Many have become family.

If your travels bring you to Jerusalem, you are welcome to join Calvary Chapel Old City when services are in season. Please arrange your own travel and lodging.

We are happy to answer questions when our ministry schedule allows. Personal meetings and informal assistance depend on our availability.
